jojoSOUL is an active working musician based in New York City, specializing in percussion, live performance, and DJ/dance accompaniment.
As an interactive drummer at nightclubs and events, jojo brings rhythm and energy directly to the dance floor, exciting dancers and inviting audiences to connect more deeply with the music. He performs at NYC dance parties including The Drop, Reboot, Ecstatic Dance, and Daybreaker, as well as venues such as The Stranger, Xanadu, Refuge, Silo, House of Yes, and Nebula, among many others.
For weddings and corporate events, jojo performs on a unique, versatile percussion setup, adding dynamic rhythm elements to complement a wide range of musical styles. He works with DJ-hybrid bands, African drum ensembles, brass bands, and marching bands, as well as accompanying DJs.
For solo activations, jojo combines percussion with electronic instruments, DJ experience, and samplers to create intimate, custom sound sets. These performances are especially well-suited for smaller rooms, lounges, nightclubs, and unique event spaces.
As a certified Drum/Rhythm Facilitator, jojo coordinates Rhythm Sessions within many different communities, including juvenile detention facilities and memory care living facilities for seniors. jojo also serves as a Teaching Artist and Dance Accompanist in school residencies throughout NYC, and as Lead Drummer/Accompanist in an infant/toddler/preschool Music & Movement program.
